About this ebook

He’s the right wolf at the wrong time…

Connie Lucero has just turned eighteen and is looking forward to escaping her small-town, going to college in the big city, traveling the world, and having adventures. When she meets her fated mate at a party, she knows she had no choice but to reject him before she ends up mated and pregnant.

Andy Galina moved to the shifter town of Greysden for a new job, but it’s not long before his wolf locks onto the beautiful younger woman they’re meant to be with forever. He’s stunned when Connie tells him she has no interest in being his mate. He knows that his independent mate needs some time to find herself and make her own way in the world, but his wolf has other ideas.

After college, Andy and Connie found each other as she graduated from high school and she longed to live in a big city and go to college. Knowing they were mates, but wanting to live her life a little before settling down, she rejected him. He talked her into becoming friends, and they used the four years to really learn about each other. The characters are terrific, easily showing how at different stages of life they were at the start. The storyline had a kind, caring outlook from both main characters, and the release to study far away and the experiences were well done. Loved their chemistry and holding out for each other at the end. Great ending.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a fun concept, but I found it lacked detail. Normally prequels give you an intro into the world/magic system but I found a lot of details about werewolves were missing here. I found this couple cute once I took the fact it was the 80s into account and their town sounds like a good setting for a series. It will be interesting to see how future books proceed. This is a prequel to the "Bite-Sized Shifters" paranormal shifter series. It is a short and quick read about fated mates Connie and Andy; both are shifters. Connie meets Andy, both know they are fated mates. She rejects him and he knows that she needs her freedom for now. This is a good story. I really like the characters.

About the author

Rose Bak has been obsessed with books since she got her first library card at age five. She is a passionate reader with an e-reader bursting with thousands of beloved books.

Although Rose enjoys writing both fiction and nonfiction, romance novels have always been her favorite guilty pleasure, both as a reader and an author. Rose's contemporary romance books focus on strong female characters over age 35 and the alpha males who love them. Expect a lot of steam, a little bit of snark, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Rose lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family, and special needs dogs. In addition to writing, she also teaches accessible yoga and loves music. Sadly, she has absolutely no musical talent so she mostly sings in the shower.
